Departure by flight to Tokyo. Overnight on board.
Arrival in Tokyo, Japan's capital, a mix of the traditional and the ultra-modern, where everything from neon-lit skyscrapers to spectacular historic temples will leave you in awe. Indulge in its unrivalled cuisine and don't miss its vibrant nightlife. Start enjoying this spectacular city and visit some of its most emblematic neighbourhoods. We recommend visiting the Shinjuku district, where you can visit the Gotokuji Temple, better known as the Temple of the Cats ‘maneki-neko’, and start with the cultural immersion or go up to a viewpoint to admire the beautiful views, such as Tokyo City Hall. In the evening, if you still have energy to spare, have a great time at one of the karaoke bars. Accommodation.
Breakfast. Free day. We recommend a visit to the Asakusa area where, among other places, you can see the famous Sensoji Temple and the Nakamise shopping arcade, full of little shops with all kinds of souvenirs to buy. Don't miss a stroll through Sumida Park or Ueno Park. In the evening, stroll through the Akihabara neighbourhood, an area of electronics, manga and anime shops, where the neon lights are brightly lit at night.
Breakfast. Free day. The city is huge and as such offers a multitude of things to do. The Shibuya neighbourhood is one of the most popular neighbourhoods and is well known by Japanese people and tourists from other countries. Visit the famous statue of the dog ‘Hachiko’ or its famous pedestrian crossing. We suggest going up to the ‘Shibuya Sky’ viewpoint, a 360º viewpoint from where you can contemplate the hustle and bustle of so many people crossing at the same time. Shibuya is also known for its countless shopping malls. Another highlight is the Meiji Shrine, a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife.
Breakfast. Free day. If you want a different experience, visit the Tsuki market, the old fish and seafood market from all over the world. We recommend going there at lunch or dinner time, and at the same time, you can take the opportunity to stroll through its narrow streets full of stalls and street stalls offering typical Japanese food, and where you will also find small shops with typical Japanese products.
Breakfast. Day at leisure. Today, you can continue to discover the exciting city or buy a train ticket to Nikko (150 kms), a Unesco World Heritage Site, a sacred place where you will find the amazing Toshogu shrine, surrounded by mountains and waterfalls. Another emblematic site closer to the city is Kamakura (58 kms), where you can see the famous giant Buddha (a bronze statue measuring 13 metres) and explore this charming place full of beautiful temples and shrines.
