In the afternoon excursion to the Sanctuary of Fatima, one of the main centers of catholic pilgrimage, place where in 1917, three little shepherds, after being prepared by the angel of Portugal, receive the visit of the Virgin Mary, who makes herself known as the Virgin of the Rosary and shows them her Immaculate Heart. Free time to visit the Sanctuary. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Breakfast and departure to visit Porto, a city on the banks of the Douro River, accompanied by an official guide. We will start with a walking tour (exterior visit) through the beautiful Barrio do Carmo, where some of the most emblematic monuments of the city are located, such as the old prison, the University of Porto, the Carmen and Carmelite churches, the Lello bookstore and the church and tower of Clérigos; and continue to the heart of Porto where we will visit the beautiful train station of São Bento Then we will continue with a panoramic bus tour, passing through the most picturesque neighborhoods on the banks of the Douro River Free time for lunch (at the client's expense) and to continue enjoying the beautiful corners of this beautiful city Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Breakfast and departure to visit Lisbon accompanied by an official guide We will make a panoramic bus tour of the city visiting its squares, such as Marques de Pombal, Restauradores, Rossio, or Comercio Square; its main avenues such as Avenida da Liberdade, Eduardo VII Park, and the Belém district, where the Jeronimos Monastery, the Monument to the Descobrimentos and Belém Tower are located; the Eduardo VII Park, and the Belém district, where the Jerónimos Monastery, the Monument to the Descobrimentos and the Belém Tower are located. Free time for lunch (at the client's expense) and to enjoy the Alfama district, one of the oldest districts of Lisbon, and the Chiado district, which represent the most bohemian Lisbon.
Overnight at the hotel on PM basis (breakfast and dinner) with the possibility of an optional full day excursion with lunch at a restaurant to Óbidos, Nazaré, Alcobaça and Batalha. We will go to Óbidos, a city surrounded by a fortified wall. We will see the good state of preservation and medieval appearance of its streets and whitewashed houses adorned with flowers. Its history is an illustrated summary of all the cultures that made Portugal great. We will continue our journey towards Nazaré, famous for its customs and traditions, and where the typical costumes call the attention. In the sanctuary of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré an ancient image of the Virgin is worshiped, made of polychrome wood and that according to tradition is venerated since the first centuries of the Christian era. We continue our journey to Alcobaça, where we highlight the Royal Cistercian Abbey of Santa Maria de Alcobaça (XII century), declared a World Heritage Site in 1989. On our way back to the hotel we will stop in Batalha, where we will find the monastery of Santa Maria da Vitoria, a real jewel of Portuguese architectural heritage, which was built to commemorate the Portuguese independence and is now declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
Breakfast at the hotel and possibility of an optional half-day excursion to Coimbra with an official guide, the first capital of Portugal and nowadays the third Portuguese city in number of inhabitants and considered the cradle of science and literature. Highlights include the Patio das Escolas, where over the centuries were built some of the greatest jewels of Portuguese architecture, A Sala dos Capelos, Chapel of the Restorado and the Library of Joao V, etc.. Lunch at the hotel and free afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
